Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) Solicitor in Cardiff, South Wales
A lasting power of attorney is a legal document which appoints a person or persons to make decisions on your behalf when you are unable to do so. This document is most often drawn up when people are reaching retirement age or start showing signs of physical or mental deterioration.
Issuing a lasting power of attorney
There are two types of lasting power of attorney that you can create:
Property and Affairs - The first is for property and affairs and allows you to choose a person, or persons, to make decisions on how your money is spent and the way that your property and financial affairs are looked after.
Personal Welfare - The other type of LPA is for your personal welfare. A Personal Welfare lasting power of attorney allows you to give someone the power to make decisions regarding your healthcare and welfare, including the medical treatment that you receive and the place that you live.
